PILATES TEACHER TRAINING AT THE STUDIO PEC: TERMS + CONDITIONS

Current Terms & Conditions are always available on our website.

These Terms & Conditions apply to the MAT + REFORMER Pilates Teacher Trainings offered by the studio pec. These training programs are designed as an immersive learning experience combining practice, study, teaching experience, mentorship, and reflection. By registering, you agree to uphold the shared values of respect, safety, and integrity that shape these trainings.

The terms “the studio pec,” “the studio,” “we,” and “our” refer to 1000250416 Ontario Inc. and its employees, contractors, shareholders, officers, directors, and agents. “You,” “trainee,” and “participant(s)” refer to the individual enrolled in the training.

REGISTRATION + PAYMENT

  • A specified non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration to hold your spot.

  • Your space is not confirmed until the deposit has been successfully received.

  • The remaining balance (“final payment”) is due by the date specified at registration.

  • If the final payment is not received by the deadline, your spot may be released and offered to another applicant, and your deposit will not be refunded or transferred.

  • All tuition payments (deposit and final balance) are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • If a payment plan is offered, you are responsible for completing all scheduled payments regardless of participation or withdrawal.

  • Payment of the deposit and/or any portion of tuition constitutes agreement to these Terms & Conditions.

  • Spaces are limited and confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of deposit.

CODE OF CONDUCT + COMMUNITY POLICY

All participants and staff are expected to uphold our community values of respect, safety, inclusion, and professionalism. The following behaviours are not tolerated:

  • Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or discrimination of any kind

  • Bullying, harassment, intimidation, or aggression

  • Disrespect toward fellow trainees, faculty, guest educators, clients, or studio staff

  • Behaviour that disrupts learning, compromises safety, or violates studio policies

the studio pec reserves the right to remove or fail any participant who violates these principles. No refunds or transfers will be issued in such cases.

ATTENDANCE + CERTIFICATION

  • Attendance at all scheduled sessions is required for certification eligibility.

  • Any missed hours must be made up at the discretion of the faculty; additional fees may apply.

  • Certification is not guaranteed; it is based on:

    • Participation and engagement

    • Demonstrated understanding of material

    • Successful completion of:

      • practice teaching hours

      • self-practice hours

      • mentorship hours

      • observation hours

      • examination(s)

  • the studio pec reserves the right to withhold certification if standards of competency, safety, or professionalism are not met.

EMPLOYMENT DISCLAIMER

Completion of either Pilates Teacher Training Program provides a solid foundation to teach Pilates in a variety of studio settings. However, participation in or completion of these programs does not guarantee a teaching position or employment with the studio pec.

Graduates are welcome to apply for any open teaching roles at the studio pec following certification. Applications will be considered based on current studio needs, availability, and fit at that time. We cannot guarantee that a teaching position will be available upon completion of the program.

COMMUNITY CLASSES (MAT + REFORMER)

As part of the curriculum, trainees teach paid community classes (10 for MAT trainees; 15 for REFORMER trainees).

By participating, you agree that:

  • Community classes are part of your practicum and may be observed or reviewed by faculty.

  • Teaching these classes is required for certification unless otherwise arranged.

  • Compensation rates are determined in advance by the studio pec and will be shared with you during training.

  • These classes must be completed within the timelines set by the faculty.

  • If you are unable to teach a community class that you have signed up for you, you must notify the studio pec at the earliest possible opportunity so that we can find a substitute teacher for that class. Repeated missed classes may affect certification eligibility

CONFIDENTIALITY + INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All training materials—including manuals, worksheets, exercise breakdowns, cueing frameworks, sequencing templates, videos, slides, branding, and teaching methodology—are the intellectual property of the studio pec and its guest educators.

Participants agree that:

  • No portion of the training may be recorded, photographed, copied, or shared without written consent, including on social media.

  • Training materials may not be reproduced, distributed, or presented as your own work.

  • Use of materials is for personal learning only and may not be used to create your own teacher training or educational offering.

Any violation constitutes a breach of contract and may result in removal from the program, withholding of certification, and potential legal action.

HEALTH + PARTICIPATION WAIVER

Participation in this program involves physical activity and carries inherent risks. By enrolling, you:

  • Confirm you are in suitable physical and mental health to join the program.

  • Acknowledge that facilitators are not medical professionals and do not diagnose or treat health conditions.

  • Assume full responsibility for any injury, illness, or property loss incurred through participation.

  • Release and indemnify the studio pec from all claims arising out of participation.

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT + CANCELLATION

  • A minimum number of participants is required for the program to run.

  • the studio pec reserves the right to cancel or postpone the training if minimum enrollment is not met.

  • If the program is cancelled by the studio pec, all payments you have made will be fully refunded.

  • the studio pec is not responsible for additional costs incurred by participants (including travel or accommodations).

Please ensure the training is confirmed before making non-refundable travel arrangements.

FORCE MAJEURE

If circumstances beyond our control (including illness, emergency, natural disaster, pandemic restrictions, or government order) impact the training, the studio pec may:

  • Transition the program to livestream / online delivery, or

  • Reschedule to a future date.

All payments remain non-refundable but will be honored for any rescheduled session.

MEDIA RELEASE

By participating, you grant the studio pec permission to use photographs, video, or audio featuring you for educational or promotional purposes without additional notice or compensation. If you prefer not to appear in such content, you must notify us in writing before the training begins.

AGREEMENT

By submitting payment for one or both programs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms + Conditions. These Terms form part of your binding agreement with the studio pec.
